Garth joined the Board in September 2023 to fill a vacancy as provided under the Society’s Rules. On the 2 December 2023 he was appointed Deputy Chair and was elected Chair at the 2024 AGM.

Rebus History:

years, building industry, 10 years. Garth has a Diploma in Business Information

Systems and possesses competent computer and internet skills. He lives with wife Ruth at Army Bay on the Whangaparaoa Peninsula.

He now takes over the role of Club News Editor. Steve is Past president of both the Rebus Club of Cambridge and Rebus Club of Riverside Hamilton having joined both Clubs in 2018. In addition to being the Newsletter editor for each, he is also their “unofficial” photographer.

Treasurer. John joined the Board in May 2024 to fill the vacant Treasurer’s position as provided under the Society’s Rules Rebus History.

Joined the Wairere Rebus Club of Wanganui in 2021 and became a member of the committee within 3 months. He took over the Treasurer’s role of that committee in December 2021 due to the incumbent becoming ill. He remained Treasurer until the Club closed in March 2024. He immediately joined the Pukenamu Rebus Club in Wanganui and was accepted in April 2024.

Work History. Auditor/accountant for 20 years, IT Computer Industry as a Programmer/Analyst for 20 Years. He is competent with a computer using Excel, Word, PowerPoint, cloud computing and internet skills. Lives in Wanganui.

Paul was elected to the Board as Secretary in May 2026.  Professionally he was an air traffic controller for 47 years predominantly at Auckland airport, retiring in 2014.  He was elected to the Board of the NZ Air Line Pilots Association [NZALPA] in 1990 and served two terms as Vice President from 1991-94 and 2004-05.  He was recognised as a Life Member of NZALPA in 2008, and continues to fill roles as Returning Officer and Property Manager for the Association.  He was elected Deputy President of the International Federation of Air Traffic Controllers’ Associations in 1997 remaining until 2001, and also served as Chairman of their Administrative Committee handling the Constitution, By-Laws, Administration, and Finances until 2015.  He was awarded a Scroll of Honour by the Federation in 2013.

Paul was a trustee of the Air Traffic Controllers Mutual Benefit Fund for 10 years from 2015 to 2025, and earlier a trustee of the Airways Superannuation Plan for a similar period.

In the private sector, he was co-owner of a very successful small manufacturing business in the 1980s, and a Director of Mutual Benefit Fund Administration Ltd from 2017 to 2025.

He joined the Rebus Club of Hibiscus Coast in 2019, serving as Secretary for three years from 2021 to 2024, and President for two years from 2024 to 2026.  He lives in Manly with his wife Glenis.

Paul has been a longstanding member of the Rebus Club of Hibiscus Coast. With wife Janette, has recently moved to Rangiora where he joined the Rebus Club of Papanui. Among his many talents is website development along with other IT skills. In recent years, he has acted as a Support Person to the Society assisting in the design and maintenance of the Rebus NZ Website. He continues to help those Clubs which do not have their own website, to have a page attached to the Rebus NZ site. Paul has recently accepted an invitation to become a member of the Society and at the 2025 was elected to the Board for a full term. Work History. Janet is the immediate past president of the Rebus Club of Orewa. Qualifications. Janet is a qualified Registered Nurse (RN), Batchelor of Arts (BA) and Medical Education (Med)

Work History. She was a clinical RN for 25 years mainly at Auckland City Hospital. Worked with the Red Cross in Honk Kong while living there with her husband and on return to New Zealand became a nurse educator at AUT University until she retired in 2020.
